Peru

well if there was anyone reading my blog besides my grandmother I'm sure my silence took care of that.

Kara, Stefanie L and I went to Peru this last week. It was amazing. Unfortunately that little dream world disappeared this morning when the alarm went off. I may not live in the states but reality lives in Uruguay too. So, dealing with the real world leaves me little time to do the things I want to do (like blogging) but I do have some pictures that I would just love for you to see. I took about 1400 so feel gyped cause they're pretty cool and you only get about ten.

I will post more later in the week.

creativity killer

Time stiffles creativity. tonight I looked through some of my favorite travel pictures to get inspired for my trip to Peru on friday. Sometimes my lack of time prevents me from reaching my full potential with my shots. They become nominal.
A while back I tried to do a 365 series, which is a self-portrait of sorts per day for 365 days. I got to like... 30 days in and quit cause life got to be too much.
I'm going to start over friday when we go to Peru though and this time I'm going to finish even if i don't get a picture a day posted. It stretches me to be more creative, to find more ways to represent myself than a simple portrait.
I've near abandoned painting these days so I better make my medium of choice (photography) really worth it. I can't give it total blame, but my lack of time creates a mental barrier... and sometimes I just stop looking and so I don't see the world around me. ... and thats when you end up with nominal work.

Like i said, we're going to Peru friday. Lima, Cusco, Macchu Picchu (i actually don't know how to spell that still, its kinda like mississippi.)
I realize I failed to communicate properly over the past little while. I'm not very steadfast in my posting. I'd say i'll get better but we all know it's a lie. However I will promise to come back and post at least one good travel story. scouts honor.

Good things are worth waiting for... but don't hold your breath.

hasta luego.
